The construction of this contemporary 1400+ sq.ft. oceanfront home was done by the architect with help from his father, David Sr., and his girlfriend, Leslie Schakel.
Hands-on construction experience was gained doing all facets of home construction except for the foundation and the plumbing with were subbed out.
Some of these skills were decking, drywall, electrical, finish carpentry, flooring, insulation, painting & staining, foofing, siding, site work & landscaping, and windows and doors.
